We invite you to submit your wines to The Dallas Morning News and TexSom Wine Competition to be held February 18-19, 2013 at the Irving Convention Center. Registration is open beginnning November 1, 2012.
The Dallas Morning News and TexSom Wine Competition was established as The Dallas Morning News Wine Competition in 1985, making 2013 our 29th year. We have grown from 580 entries that first year to 3272 entries in 2012. In 2011 we partnered with TexSom the organization that produces the annual TexSom conference and Best Sommelier of Texas Competition. The leadership of Drew Hendricks, MS and James Tidwell, MS has brought great energy, enthusiasm and expertise from the contribution of their efforts and support.
For the 2012, competition we successfully reorganized the basis our judging categories from grape variety to regions by country, then grape variety. We believe that the wines were more fairly considered in the context of their respective regions and we will continue to categorize in this way.
The deadline for entries, fees and wines is January 18, 2013. Full information available at dallaswinecomp.com
